An item I shipped over a week ago hasn't turned up to the buyer in NSW (I'm in WA). I did not do registered post ( and the buyer didn't request it). I have asked the buyer to check with the PO, which she says she has done. What's the process after this? Do I have to pay her back?
NSW to WA can take 10 to 14 working days so ask the buyer to be a little more patient.
But if the item does not arrive and as you have not used a method of postage suitable for paypal you will have to refund them as they would win a dispute if they opted for a dispute.
If they paid with bank dep then it is up to you to refund once they advise of the bank details.
