Problems with lodging a parcel with an Australia Post prepaid label

Two times in the last couple of days I have printed off my postage labels for mailing with Australia Post but when I take the parcel into the Australia Post outlet, their scanners don't recognise the bar code - they have also tried manually putting the numbers into the computer, again with no success.  The postage fee has been debited to my account -  I realise that I can cancel that postage label and create another one, but I would like to know why this has started happening, and if there is anything I should do differently.  The bar code is not covered in any way.
