Shipping prices in Australia going up?? $7.55 to $8.65 to $8.95 now!! Is something wrong?

Shipping prices have gone up by $1.4 recently and no matter what option I choose or how small I make the parcel it won't go lower than $8.95. I'm barely making any profit on recent sales since I didn't realise how much I would be spending on shipping before the customer bought the item. It seems as though the special $7.55 eBay shipping price has disappeared from the list of options and I can only choose Standard Australia Post shipping, even though I haven't changed anything in my listing settings. Please offer me any advice I am in distress with my $2.23 profits!
