does ebay plus charge international delivery fees

Hi There 

Will I be charged for international delivery charges or are they also free using ebay plus??

For example I never buy anything from america because the delivery charges practically double the purchase price.

I dont know why american sellers bother advertising on australian ebay.

China delivery charges for example are free.

From the eBay Plus FAQs

You'll have to pay the seller's specified postage costs if:

• You choose an express delivery option to a non-metro address (i.e. not on our list of eligible postcodes)
• You choose international postage

That took about 5 seconds to find.

As far as the rest goes, the GSP allows US and UK sellers to post locally and have seller protection once the item arrives at the GSP depot. A lot wouldn't sell overseas otherwise, and many wouldn't even realise the item was going out of their country.

Comparing US and Chinese shipping prices is apples and oranges. The Chinese tend to sell cheap junk and are subsidised by the Chinese government. And China is significantly closer to Australia than the US is.

Ebay Plus does not apply to international postage at all.

All you get is free Standard Australian Post on some items as decided by ebay.  Too bad if what you want to buy does not have the Plus label from ebay.

Maybe online buying is not for you if your only concern is the postage costs.

How did you come to that assumption? No one likes to pay ridiculous postage - it doesn't mean that online buying isn't for them🙄

Maybe because if you are buying online, postage cost is only one element of the price, and anybody who bases their choices on postage cost alone is not necessarily doing themselves a favour.

Roger has been around long enough to know better than to make assumptions, and to read the T&Cs of eBay Plus.

I am now seeing many Chinese sellers charging for postage, and some are not at all cheap.
