So heres my situation.
Late last year I received an email from eBay stating that I had purchased a phone. The delivery address in the email was an address in the UK ( I live in Australia).
I contacted eBay immediately stating that I had been hacked and had never placed this order. Ebay advised me to change my password etc. and wait until the charge came up on my credit card statement (Amex) , then lodge a dispute with them.
I then lodged a dispute with Amex and was unsuccessful twice as the charge was made from my account in my name and didn't meet their criteria for a refund. Amex advised me to contact PayPal who processed the payment for the hacker using my credit card details (but not through my actual PayPal account).
I then lodged a dispute with PayPal who have also rejected it.
My question is, where do I go from here?
Thank you so much for your help, feeling very stressed/frustrated!
Hi there,
Did you have any success with this? It sound very similiar to my situation.
Vacuum cleaner purchased on my account (delivery address in the US, i'm in Australia)
Amex was charged (even though it was a previously cancelled Amex as well). Original Amex dispute has been unsuccessful. I've gone through the EBay/Amex/Paypal as processor circles as well. Incredibly frustrating.
