Hi
I have the winning bid for an item. I live in Australia - the seller is in America. I want the item shipped to an address in America and not my address in Australia but ebay isn't allowing me to do that with a message saying "unfortunately the seller doesn't ship to your location"
Why is this and how can I change this? The seller has gone silent on me.
Doug
I think the time to ask if this is ok is before buying
There are many scammer buyers on eBay who buy and then ask if the seller can send to somewhere other to the buyer themselves (sellers must sell to the address the buyer has provided in PayPal)
Obviously there is no way for a seller to know which buyers are genuine and which are not
And especially so at this point in time with so many warnings about the added risk of selling or buying overseas, which has meant even more of the buyers who are dodgey taking full advantage of eBay supporting them all the way
How long ago did you message the seller?. It is possible they have not even seen your message yet, with all that is happening in The States at the moment
First you should have contated the seller to eplain what you wanted to do. If the item was listed under the GSP shipping the seller would not even know that you were in Australia as it is all automated.
After getting the OK from the seller you should change the delivery address in paypal to your friend's address in the USA.
Did you ask the seller prior to placing a bid?
If you don't hear back from the seller there is nothing you can do other than find another seller.
