Managed payments making me change my preferred name

I use a preferred shortened version of my first name on ebay. i.e. Mike.

But now with managed payments coming in, to add my bank account details, my ebay name must match my bank details. My bank details include first, middle and surname..yet middle name on ebay is optional and if you include it, it doesn't show in the bank details anyway.

Have other ebayers had to do this?

I don't see why you can't continue to have a prefered name for postge details etc.

Of course your bank details need to match any id you have provided or anyone could claim to be you. And yes most sellers now on MP will have given these proof of id's etc.

Not sure, not sure it is that important either - so long as the address is correct for returned items I doubt the name would be an issue to many, sorry if I have misunderstood your question

I don't have a problem with my licence id, passport and bank names all matching but if you have an embarasing first name or prefer to use your second name as an identifier on purchased packages that should still be an option.

My ebay First Name is now Joe MacLeod, because it wouldn't let me piut in a Middle Name to match the Bank A/C.
