Paid via PayPal for pick up item - what should I do?

I had a buyer pay for an item via PayPal that is pick up only. I advised them that there is no buyer or seller protection for pick up items and I would prefer them to inspect it first prior to paying but they said that it should be fine and I can just refund them via PayPal should there are any problems. I am not sure what to do now as I have always had people pay me cash on pick up. Should I just leave it as is?
