I have received an email announcing that the way eBay/PayPal is going to pay for items I have sold is changing. They are asking me for driver's licence numbers etc ???

I received the same email. After searching through the threads I discovered that ebay will now charge 13.4% plus $0.30 per order. It appears obvious to me that the reason for the change is greed. They say "You’ll no longer have to pay PayPal payment processing fees" but you will be paying them (to ebay). We'll save 0.1% but have to wait up to 2 days for payment and no longer have the protection of Paypal.

I received the same email. As did myriad others.

If you want to continue selling on eBay, sign up. If you want more information, read the MANY threads on the selling board (not the Answer Centre) about this.

It is true and (old news)  that things are changing to managed payments

But impossible for other members to know if the actual, specific email you got is indeed the REAL one or a phishing attempt by a scammer to try to trick people giving over the required info

When you hover over the sender's address, is it the legit email address?

Who did it 'say' it was from  (eBay or PayPal or somewhere else)
