why is my payment processing and then being refunded by ebay

I am sending a payment through and ebay keep advising the first instalment via Afterpay is being refunded and to make the payment again

This has happened on 4-5 ocassions for the one purchase  - the funds are available

The payment is processed and advised by ebay that the payments is okay 

Then an email from ebay saying that payment is still required and a refund has gone onto my afterpay account

Has anyone figured out this glitch? I've never had a problem with an Ebay purchase through afterpay until now. I've tried 6-7 times for the same purchase and alas I get refunded after a few minutes. So I tried with another item in my cart and bam, payment recieved. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Ive been having this problem for 12 months and ive made several ebay accounts and the same problem keeps happening, I keep getting refunded after I purchase something on ebay through afterpay
