Refund sent to PayPal I used for once-only occasion through eBay. where is my refund?

Sorry if this has been answered before.
I bought some shoes that were paid for and received fine - although they were the wrong size and I sent them back for a full refund. Seller sent refund to the PayPal used for the initial purchase.
I had used a once-only transaction paypal with my debit card and since then have signed up for PayPal - not surprising I can't find the refund transaction anywhere. Seller sent me refund transaction ID.
What have I missed? Help please!
