I have purchased several items on ebay in france assuming the seller used paypal but they are asking for a personal cheque. I am a resident of of Australia and only in France for several months but I have resquested the delivery to my current residence in Paris. I'm not a permanent resident here so I don't have a bank account here. Is sending a personal cheque / money order safe or is this a scam? I've never heard of anyone asking for a personal cheque. + when I emailed them about this request of paying by cheque they said it was clearly stated and expected a cheque but haven't provided any names or address..?
