Seller has refunded my Paypal payment and asks for money to be paid by Bank Deposit. Scam?

Hi All,

I recently won an auction for an Iphone X and promptly paid for this via Paypal.

The seller has subsequently refunded back my Paypal payment and advised that there had to verify Paypal details on their side. They have also asked that they insist the money be paid via bank deposit instead.

There are a couple of red flags in this scenarios:

1. Seller had listed Paypal as a method of payment

2. Seller immediatedly refunded money and says their Paypal needs verification (the fact that they can refund is enough to demonstrate that no other verification is needed.

3. Demanded money via bank transfer

4. 1 recent negative feedback arrived after purchase of recent situation by buyer

As there is no real buyer protection when it comes to bank deposit and given that the purchase is in the '000s, definately a scam. Thoughts?

I want to just ignore the ignore but will end up getting an unpaid case raised against me. Is there anything I can do in this instance?

Thanks All
