My partner won a chainsaw and paid straightaway via paypal. He received a message shortly after from paypal saying the payment has been refused by the seller and the funds returned to his credit card. He contacted the seller and the seller has asked him to pay for it into another paypal account.
My question is will he be protected if he doesn't receive the item or it turns out to be fake. The total cost is just under a $1000. We are concerned that this may be some sort of scam as the seller is in Malaysia and only has a feedback score of 1. We have asked the seller to fix up his paypal account or cancel the transaction.
Any advise appreciated.
