The only option to be paid as a seller is by Managed Payments, which is paid out to the bank account used to sign up to Managed Payments with

PayPal has not been a 'thing' for sellers in over 4 years

As sandy says… no.

You cannot bypass eBay’s own integrated payment process (which uses Adyen as the actual processor). The buyer’s payment goes through to eBay, and eBay – in accordance with Australian legislation concerning payment from buyers to sellers using an online marketplace (aka Electronic Distribution Platform) – disburse the payment to sellers only if required conditions are met. The conditions include verified bank account and verified ID.

eBay also place additional conditions to mitigate their risk, holding funds if the seller’s history or activity may create a higher risk. This is why “new” or infrequent/sporadic sellers, or sellers suddenly selling higher value items, will experience a temporary hold on funds.

eBay have also opted to disburse the funds minus the fees, and if any funds are found to be owed to eBay (for cash transactions or where a dispute leaves the seller owning for a refund, for instance), eBay has authority to be paid from the seller’s bank account.

So - no. You cannot be paid by the buyer directly to your PayPal account.

Were any seller found trying to circumvent MP (Managed Payments), it’d be considered by eBay to be fee avoidance and selling off-eBay.

There was a considerable amount of confusion and some resistance to MP when it was first mooted and implemented, but for regular sellers it seems to be working smoothly. For occasional sellers, it’s not such a good system as such sellers would not be selling enough or so regularly that they’d ever lose the status of “new” sellers, and this would find their funds being held over and over again. But there it is; it’s eBay’s system and it’s understandable why they have put it in place.
