After selling is completed I cannot get the checkout complete to be highlighted??

I seem to be unable to get the picture of the trolley (checkout complete) highlighted after a Sales is complete. I have tried everything and it must be something very basic, any ideas?

The trolly will usually highlight when the buyer goes through checkout,  if the buyer goes straight to process payment it often doesn`t,  but to be honest, I rarely take notice, I note when payment is made and cleared, so I know to post, other than that the little icons have little relevance.
