$500 limit, what happens to bids over that?

First time seller selling 1 item only.

$500.00 limit used on one item -entered as $500 starting price, then up for bidding.

Now wondering - what happens if someone tries to enter a bid over $500?

Will the bid be rejected because I'm a new seller and the bid is over $500.00?

If so, I guess I'll have to remove the item from sale.

Thanks in advance.

The $500 limit would be a listing limit - not a bidding limit. eBay have no way of controlling what someone might bid for a particular item. When I look at your listing it says 'Enter $500 or more'.
