Have item for sale COD on pickup and have been contacted by member wanting to buy and asked me to delete item but pickup not for another 3 days so do I delete item or does member have to still bid for it as not due to finish until after pickup?

You can either suggest they bid on the item and wait until the auction finishes or add a Buy it now price to the auction at the agreed price so buyer can click Buy It Now and pick it up at the agreed time.
Keep in mind some buyers will offer the opening auction price because they believe it may reach much higher if the auction continues.
So it is up to you.
