Can someone please explain why buyers who buy pick up only items pay with paypal??

Why?  Has anyone had a chargeback on a pick up item?  I had one guy pay me via paypal whilst viewing the item!?  Another person paid a few days ago and despite 2 messages has not contacted me regarding the pick up she paid for via paypal....buying on ebay is soooo much more fun....Thanks in advance for your response.
