Delete postage off the invoice before payment. I inserted the minus amount postage in the discount box, but inv total does not change. Why?

What am I doing wrong? I want to discount the postage on the invoice as the item will be a pick up. I have inserted a negative amount into the discount box on the invoice, but the total will not change showing the discounted amount. I would appreciate some help. Thank you.
