Do eBay send an automatic response to letters?

I wrote to eBay last night  but do not have a response. I have a copy of my letter forwarded to my email. Do they acknowledge

receipt of your correspondence  and reply at a later date?    Many thanks for the reply to my query.

Sometimes you get an acknowedgment, and sometimes not, but if you email, and not call, you will probably get a cut and paste response which has no bearing on your issue.
