We have had the worst experience with Customs in Reunion. They are requesting a 50 page original document for test reports for LED battery operated lights. My customer bought them for a wedding last weekend and Customs are still sitting with it.
My supplier in China provided us with all certificates like CE, ROHS and a 1 page test report but this did not satisfy Reunion Customs. They are obviously living on another planet.
If you and your supplier have provided all the information available to the department in question there is little else you can do, most will tell you (I presume) that it is up the the buyer to check to see if items are allowed in their countries, it is not up to the seller to know what laws and regulations apply to every part of the world,
I imagine if their customs department are not satisfied the items will be destroyed or possibly returned to you, how you address this is up to you, as a gesture of good faith may be a part refund would be accepted and avoid any negative FB, even though you are not at fault.
