Hello Have I been scammed? First sale today to a first time buyer... Ebay won't release funds

Good afternoon everyone,

After the initial excitement of achieving my first sale on EBay this afternoon, I am now concerned that the sale is a scam.  I notice that the "potential" purchaser is also new to Ebay with no ratings like myself.

I would love to hear from anyone who could confirm if my sale is legit or not.

Please see communication from Ebay below:

Great news – your item has sold! Because you have a limited selling history on eBay, your funds will be on hold until 26 Sep. This helps us confirm that the buyer does not have any issues with the order. Please make sure to upload your tracking details to avoid any delays.

By the way, I haven't posted the item as yet, however do promise postage on the day of the order if lodged before a specific cut off time.

Many thanks

Nobody can tell you *for sure* if it is legit

Scams are always possible

But yes, new sellers and sellers who have not sold in sometime will have their payments put on hold for up to 30 days, so you are luck yours is only two weeks

You agreed to the hold on your funds when you listed

Did you indeed fully complete sign up to Managed Payments prior to listing?

What does it say at your end under   Seller Hub  >  Payments

I would not be concerned as I a potential scammer would buy something other than a crossword book.

Just follow the process and you will find it gets easier the more you sell.

Not a scam.

You need to post the item.

As long as you're registered to sell and signed up for managed payments:
