Hello - can someone tell me please why, when I look at my Monthly Reporting, the "postage charged" and the "postage cost" vary so much?

My Monthly Reporting gives "Postage Charged" and "Postage Cost" - the difference is huge!!! I only charge the true cost of postage - can anyone explain this for me?
Is it possible that "Postage Charged" applies to my selling and "Postage Cost" applies to my purchases?
I would appreciate any explanation.
