Hi, I recently spent three hours working on the first item that I wanted to sell. I got right down to the last step where all I had to do was click onto the "Continue" button. When I clicked the button, I was required to enter my phone number and ebay would phone or text me a message. The problem occured when ebay would not accept my phone number. No matter how many times I entered my phone number, ebay would not accept it. Thinking that maybe I had forgotten my own phone number, I took a snapshot of the screen and printed it out. I asked my housemate to phone the number on the sheet of paper. He did and my phone rang. I asked him to send a text to that number too. He did and I got the text. So why does ebay not accept my phone number to sell items?
When I tried to go back to the description of the item I was trying to sell, it had vanished. Please explain. Thank you

I had problems the other day with trying to confirm my account was mine.
The number has to be typed in the same as your original registration. Is your phone a mobile?
With mobile, the usual way now is to put the first 2 numbers in the 1st box & the rest in the 2nd.
eBay help had me type in the 1st 4 numbers in the first box, but that didn't work either.
When I put in the 1st 3 numbers in the first box - that worked - evidently that's how I put my phone number in when I registered some 10 years ago (memory is not that good - how was I supposed to remember that).
