How long do i wait??

I am somewhat new to selling on Ebay so i was wondering how long i should wait for the buyer to make payment for their winning item?? Im a little concerned as the "winner" has only one feedback for an item and it was negative, also, she lives in another state and my item was pick up only.. Im trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but because im only new i feel a bit funny about the whole thing.. I didnt write payment was required by a certain time as i didnt even think about it so are there any standard time frames to allow for payment??
