I was wondering if there is a particular protocol to follow in regards to ending a sale early?

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me please?

I generally list my items in the Auction format & with some items that I list, I list them at a price that I'd be happy to sell them for. As a seller obviously I'm after the best price but there are those that I'm just happy to get rid of, or feel sorry for some bidders that way over bid the value of an item. I know, yes I have a conscience.

Is it acceptable to End an item early in these circumstances with giving the only / highest bidder the option to buy at that price?

Is that an acceptable practice on eBay or is it a rule violation in some way? I've tried to reseach it to no avail & was hoping that some experienced sellers would be able to shed light on the subject.
