Is it safe to provide bank account details to a buyer for payment

I just sold an item which was listed as cash on pickup. Buyer is some 350 Km's away and said they will organise pick up and if I could text my bank details for payment. 

Is this a safe method of transaction.

Short answer, yes it is safe - all a person can do with your BSB and A/C details is put money into your account.

Just make sure the transfer has cleared before you let them have the goods.
