I know this subject has been done ad nauseam but this is my first. On Friday night I was advised by ebay email that I had sold my (expensive) item. I have heard nothing from the "buyer" and they haven't gone through checkout. Obviously ebay have taken their large fee already but I haven't made a sale. Where do I go from here?.

if it sold on Fri. it isnt even One Business Day yet since the sale so you are jumping the gun here.
follow ebay guidelines, wait 4 days open dispute, wait 4 more days, close dispute
eBay have not already taken their fee, it is on your monthly invoice which you have about 10 days to pay AFTER the invoice is issued at the end [or middle] of your monthly billing cycle.
patience is expected if you plan to be an eBay seller.
