I have a very large item (if it sells) so how do I know how to work out the postage costs when I don't know which State in Australia the item will be sent before someone purchases it, if they do?

You can use calculated postage whereby the postcode of the bidder is calculated and shown as the cost.
Depending on how large and how heavy though, you may want to check AP restrictions first.
Perhaps list as a pick up only item ?
