Privacy compromised

I recently had an unsolicited phone call at home regarding some of my listings and wanting to pay for items direct into my bank.  How would they have got my private number and has my privacy been compromised.  I do not want anyone phoning me at home or dealings outside of the ebay setting.

However you will also have been emailed their details.
