I sold an item almost two weeks ago now - being the first item I've sold on Ebay I was informed by the website that my funds would be put on hold until delivery was confirmed.
I made the choice (mistake, I know) to choose Sendle as they're an option recommended by Ebay, in which the tracking for this item was totally fine until receiving the update that the "Parcel is with a local delivery provider to complete delivery. It may not receive any further tracking updates." - there /hasn't/ been any further tracking updates post that message and it's been 5 business days since receiving that update for a parcel that's been sent within the same state.
As I most likely won't receive an update that it's been delivered which would release my funds, I've sent a message to the buyer asking them to mark it as received if they can. Beyond this, is there anything that can be done? Has anyone has a similar experience? It just seems somewhat unreasonable to be waiting this long and to have no idea if I will ever receive the money I am owed.
Every new seller has funds on hold for 30 days
tracking showing delivery and positive feedback from the buyer is not the end of that hold, and the holds will continue past the first item
while eBay may suggest Sendle, many many buyers and sellers say avoid avoid avoid
But even if you used AP and the tracking was fine, your funds will most likely still be on hold
I doubt the buyer would be silly enough to mark it as received, they would be aware if they did, and the item does not show up, they will not be able to open a dispute that it was not received . In fact, depending on what the buyer is like, they may think you are trying to trick them and neg you for it
