Receipt for Payment

I have received payment for a item I sold and the buyer has asked for a receipt when the money is in my paypal account.  Is there a way of sending a electronic receipt or should I just send a physical receipt with the item?.

Just print out a copy of the invoice and write on it that the money has been received and sign and date it.
