Hi all,
I have been talking to a customer about a couple items. The shipping amount via UPS or USPS is about $65. Pirate Ship's Simple Export Rate is about $39. Can I expect a lower rate using EBay's International shipping program? I understand I would only ship it to a hub in the US, but does the customer get a freight charge from EBay that would end up costing them more?
I told the buyer I would try to find the least expensive way for them, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. The box weighs less than four pounds.
Thanks!
eISP may well cost more for the buyer, who will pay for whatever charge you set for whatever charge you set for local postage plus the charge set by eISP for international shipping plus whatever customs or services charge is set plus 10% GST upon the total.
The shipping charge will be based upon the dimensions and weight information you’ve set for the item in your listing. Insufficient or wrong details there would see the shipping component skyrocket.
On the other hand, bear in mind that using eISP protects you as a seller and simplifies the process.
If the buyer seems worth trusting, all well and good. I’ve bought from US and UK buyers who agreed to send by a different method than the GSP or eISP, for instance. In the end, you need to make the choice. Are these expensive items…?
