Thinking we have been hit by a massive shill bidder, noticing a bag we had on auction all of a sudden went through the roof, we checked out the low feedback bidder and turns out other sellers had left feedback saying 'don't bid if you don't intend to pay'....sensing something wrong we removed the bid and blocked the ebayer (they had bid $9,990), lo and behold within seconds the underbidder was furiously sending messages asking us to retract her bids !!!!!!! and this was within minutes of the auction ending.....same ebayer 2 ID's, time elapsed and bag sold to her for $1675.00 so now WE are restricted from selling for the month and copped a final selling fee of $100 on the bag !.....Advice needed as were are only new to selling . Advice would be much appreciated:_|
Shill bidding is when the seller is using other ID's to inflate the prices.
What you have is bidders just bidding because they can by the sound of it.
It is your call what to do now with the winning bidder.
They bid up to that price under their own steam so you can open a non payer dispute if they have not paid in 4 days and then 4 days later close the dipsute to get your fees back and then offer to the next bidder.
