Top Rated Seller

Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody had any insight into this. I received an email from eBay saying that my Top Rated Seller status will be removed due to apparent evidence of drop shipping.

Hello,

We’ve determined that you haven’t followed our selling practices - drop shipping policy therefore, we will be removing your Top Rated Seller status until your account is in compliance with the policy.

There is evidence on your account that you are purchasing items from an online retail or marketplace site after you sell the item on eBay and having that retailer ship the item directly to the customer. This is a violation of the terms and conditions section of our Selling practices policy, which states:

·Items you list must be in your inventory or you must have an existing agreement with a third party to fulfill the delivery of the item under the terms of your listing.

Regards,

The eBay team

I sell DVDs and ship them myself in envelopes with stamps (and the occasional parcel) with 1 day handling and 30 days returns. I have spoken with eBay 'support' twice now and their responses have been very circular and unhelpful.

"There is evidence on your account that you are purchasing items from an online retail or marketplace site after you sell the item on eBay and having that retailer ship the item directly to the customer. we can detect when you are not in control of your inventory, but I'm not able to disclose the specifics. I'm not able to disclose how we became aware of this and determined that you were violating the policy. Please be advised that because of privacy reason and to avoid circumvention, we're unable to disclose those information and evidences. At the same time, those evidences are valid before we send you the notice."

I requested assistance from both customer representatives on how to amend my listings to comply with their policies and received this response:

"I appreciate your eagerness in making this right. At the same time, we are unable to provide you the specifics of the action or investigations for members not to bypass our policy."

They also affirmed that "my only option is to accept that I will lose TRS benefits and [receive] subsequent demotions in search rankings since I am unable to correct any alleged breaches of [the] guidelines" and that they will not accept any evidence from me to attest to my innocence.

Has anybody else had a similar experience? What can I do? My sales have tanked by 80%.
