I have been given some NIB electric blankets, probably from the early 70s. The blankets are the old pastel coloured wool, pink and blue, and are still in their plastic bags inside their boxes. The boxes are also in excellent condition.
Am I able to sell these blankets on ebay and do I need to have them tagged by an electrician. Any advise will be gratefully accepted.
I wouldn't consider plugging them in at all.
The plastic insulation could have become brittle and easily cause a fire.
Not to mention the cabling inside having been folded for a long time.
I am almost sure an electrician won't even test them but tell you to bin them.
For peace of mind, I strongly suggest throwing them out.
