We sold an item to a customer, it was sent via Express Post Delivery plus Signature on Delivery

We would like to know some information regarding below details;

We sold an item to a customer, it was sent via "Express Post Delivery" plus an extra cost of "Signature on Delivery" cost on top of that.

The item was delivered to the address given by the customer but the customer claimed that they never received it (but on the tracking system says it was signed and delivered).

We asked the customer to check with the family members to see if anyone has signed on his behalf, the customer said already check and nobody signed for it.  We then asked the customer to check with the post office as the postman wouldn't leave the parcel if nobody is home, they would give a note to say go and collect the parcel at the nearest post office etc.

We supplied to the customer a valid tracking number and proof of the receipt, plus the print screen of the address that the parcel was sent and it was the correct address sent.

After exchanging messages back and forward, the customer blames us for not being responsible for the parcel being signed by somebody else and that the customer will report us to the Fair Trades etc.  Basically the customer can contact Ebay to say that they didn't received it but they don't.  If Ebay contacted us, we would supply to them proof etc.

We would like to know if we're in the wrong, as we have supplied all proof, tracking number and receipt etc.  Tracking number said it was delivered to the address but customer said they didn't get it.

Thank you

Regards

Short answer - no.

The buyer doesn't have a leg to stand on. Fair Trading wouldn't even come into it. They obviously know that as they haven't opened a dispute through eBay, who almost always side with the buyer.

Ignore all further comunications. Block them.

Probably sorted by now as this happened in February and was also answered by davewill1964
