posting to Chile

I recently posted 2 separate cds to Chile from Australia at different times in Australia Post cd mailers. Both went missing. Unfortunately there was no tracking number. Has anybody else had trouble posted to Chile or for that matter South America? I have now blocked South America as a region I post to.
