why can`t you upgrade from a person to business account in ebay Australia?

online search says that you can just click next to your account type and change it to "Business" then add in your details. the answers seem to be related to the UK (VAT referenced) seems to not be the case for AU? Do I need to just close the account and start again?ebay.JPG

I strongly suggest you take padi's advice.

It's irreversible. If you change from a personal to a business account, any future eBay account that you open will also be business. You will not be able to have a personal eBay account again (to the best of my knowledge - can someone correct me if I'm wrong?). You will lose the perquisites of a personal account (which are considerable), and you will not really gain anything. You can sell as a seller with a personal account. Even if you are a business (which of course the very very great majority of eBay sellers are), you don't require an eBay business account in order to sell on eBay.

eBay say that if you want to change your account a business account, you can do so as per this link.

(However, I've just tested it, and there's no edit button next to Account type. Possibly the ability to edit account type is only available to those who have signed up for Managed Payments, and thus been ID-verified and bank-account-verified?)

Don't do it, there are very few advantages in having a business account and once you open one you can NEVER change back.
