I see my error I should have selected immediate payment for buy it now. listed an item that some may consider collectable for $194.95 best offer. 10 mins later it was bought from a 0 feedback recently joined buyer in china. No items for sale. no contact yet, address in chinese. I am unsure how they got thru my blocks, I allow buyers with 0 feedback if they have been phone verified.
rang ebay they said I can open an item not paid for in 4/5 days - wait a total of 8 days to cancel transaction (if they don't pay).
or cancel transaction in 10 days... these two options avail if I don't want to wear the approx $20 ebay fees and lose other prospective buyers
they admitted sometimes people can hack the system...they couldn't read the acc info as its in chinese, they'd alert the trust and safety team, send the buyer an email from them incase they were unfamiliar with ebay processes but I now have to wait..... or wear $20....and even if they pay I'm aware they may claim never received or send a brick back. what should I do...???? and how did they get thru my blocks? their user id is all no.s

You should have the block in place that prevents those with a primary delivery address you do not post to from buying. If you do that and either don't quote any international postage or exclude certain countries then you should be OK.
If you did not quote delivery then you can add an exhorbitant amount to the invoice and then they probably won't pay and you can go through the unpaid item process, if they do pay then you should have charged more than enough to send it with the highest level of tracking, insurance and proof of delivery.
No way would I send a cancellation request.

brilliant PJ, just updated the post to registered mail option, one is siganture on delivery, or pack n track which is trackable - not sure which to use... will take posts advice (same price). have adjusted the invoice hopefully they can't adjust it back.
all I can read in the delivery address is china, and I have on occasion posted there I think. ebay works out post charge by the mail calcuator using the weight. can't theey still send a brick back if they're not happy with it?
do you block sending items to china?
thanks

I had an order from Russia. Russian language. 0 feedback.
Just coppied and pasted into a google translater.
Put these details onto the "Registered International" slip in english and attached a Russian language label too.
The falling exchange rate is making our prices more attractive for OS buyers.
I think we need to adapt to that.

When I made that suggestion I was meaning to quote for a fully tracked and insured courier service, something like Pack & Send, which would have been VERY expensive, more so with a huge handling fee on top.
Any Aus Post service can be a bit dodgy as they often fail to update tracking etc and would also probably be affordable, the idea is to have a cost so high the Chinese buyer will not pay ths solving all your problems.
