Mail incident south of Mackay

11 September 2013

Mail from the Mackay region bound for destinations outside of the Mackay area has been damaged following a truck incident in Carmila (100km south of Mackay) on Wednesday 11 September.

Australia Post is continuing to assess the damage but unfortunately it appears the truck contents were damaged due to the fire and are beyond recovery.

It is possible that your mail was affected if you lodged a letter or parcel on Tuesday 10 September in the Mackay region - which extends from Proserpine in the north, Middlemount and Mooranbah to the west, Clairview to the south and nearby islands.

We apologise for any inconvenience. If customers are concerned about their mail, they can lodge an enquiry with our Customer Contact Centre on 13 13 18.
