Hi All, yesterday there was a thread about Aust Post which touched on the Ebay auto defect consequences of delaying posting of tracked items even at the request of the seller.
I find that this does/will affect me - I had two sales in October where the buyers were on hols when they bought and asked me to hold off sending for a week or two until they were back home. Have just checked my Sellers Dashboard and this shows that those two instances have resulted in my "Late Shipment Rate" (LSR) being 3.08% - Ebay indicate that from Feb 2016 a LSR of less than 5% will mean the loss of "Top Rated" seller status. Luckily, I had/have enough sales at the moment to absorb these auto defects hits but if my sales drop off would be a different story.
Do you think Ebay have considered this scenario? Seems it could be a bar to sellers offering good service in this way in the future??.

You've given me an early Christmas present....thank you so much! Have a great Christmas and a safe NewYear.

That is good to know, but jeez I love it that the onus is on the seller to have the system-generated unfair defects removed.
I guess it always has been, but this is going to throw out so many of them it's tiring to think about.
As a buyer I ignore that question when leaving feedback, and as a seller I think I'll msg all buyers with a postage date (I'm mainly large letter) and a request to take ebay's estimate with a grain of salt. A big one.
Happy chrissy to all 🙂

As a buyer I tick yes regardless. I figure there will be a certain percentage of buyers who will tick no regardless, purely because they can. My yes tick will hopefully help towards keeping them above the evil line. If everyone ignores the question apart from those that tick no, a seller will only need 4 or 5 no's to cause them serious issues. The yes's help act as a bit of a buffer.
