Automated re-listing of items

I am getting frustrated as some of my items that are listed on eBay are not being relisted automatically even though the box has been ticked for automatic relisting. one in every ten items is not being relisted automatically and should be. They still have 2 free automatic relists left. I have called eBay about this matter but they do not have an answer. There is also another glitch in their system where the price of an item in a 'watch' list is lower than what the actual price is...for auction style listings. Again I have talked to eBay and they admit there is a glitch but 5 days later this glitch is still not fixed. So you may think you are bidding on a $100 item where infact it is $250 start bid...what is going on?

Yes, I got the special promotion of 1000 free listing one week, then the following week I got a promotion for 150 free listing, then the third week I got unlimited free listings which is valid until the end of May and you only pay a listing fee if your item sells. Keep an eye on their so called free listing promotions. When you schedule say 10 items to be listed for a particular time, 10 listings are deducted from your free listings, then when the ten items list at your designated time, another 10 listings are deducted from your free listings. So for 10 items, eBay has deducted 20 free listings! Yes, that is happening! Also if you have previously listed items and clicked the 3 times free automatic relist, when they relist, they too will be deducted from your free listings promotion!  Again I called eBay and customer service told me that the policy is that even automated relists will be deducted...when I told them to go to the policy and read paragraph 2 it states that any automatic relists will not be affected or are not actually part of this promotion...they were dumbfounded, did not know what to say. So not even the customer reps know what their company's policy or promotionsl policies are.

Yes it is US conversion but seeing as different conversion rates are used on different sites it will show as slightly different amounts.

It will also show differently if you convert from AU to US or convert US to AU.

eBay and PayPal also use different conversion rates depending on which financial institution they use to convert.

Re- scammers. That's a real problem all over the internet. And it's difficult for eBay to prove fake when the item is not in their hand so they are forced to give benefit of doubt. (Innocent until proven guilty)

Automated re-listing of items

what started out many moons ago as a simple selling/buying platform for mostly used items has evolved into mega giant mess of rules and fees.

i'm not saying the rules and fees are not warrented, ebay is a private business who can set whatver rules and fees they want.

we as customers have to either agree with ebay and carry on doing business with this crumbling wreckage of a once mighty platform or pack up and go elsewhere.

plenty of sellers have pulled out, moved to other platforms like facebook.

others like me are putting up with it as my selling future is limited, its comming to a natural end as i'm running out of toys to sell. everything i have sold has been from my own private collection. ive sold pretty much everything i want to sell.

i still buy on ebay as its the best place i know of for finding what i want quickly all over the world.

but you have to be careful as there are pitfalls.

i hope ebay cures the many glitches so people are happy again. but i'm not holding my breath as some of the problems have been around a long time without any action from ebay.

the recent splurge of free listings seems very odd to me, id love to know why only some sellers got the offers and other missed out. its really created a us and them situation we didn't need. it would be great if those of us who got offers we couldnt use were able to give them away to someone who needed them. but i guess that would creat more problems.

The glitch of the auto relists coming off that 150 promotion has been ongoing for awhile. EBay knows about it and refuses to fix it.

Re the unlimited promotion, you are NOT charged an insertion fee if the item sells. It was the way it was worded on some of the offers that people received that got people confused. I have sold a LOT during this unlimited promotion and there have been no insertion fees charged. Only FVF's. I have saved $297 in insertion fees during this promotion (on my smaller account. Haven't checked my larger account.)

When I asked eBay about the promotions and why some people do not receive the promotion I was told it was an automated, randomly generated thing....the computer system just sends it randomly to people. I did not receive a single promotion from eBay for two years and then I got one after new year and now this month I received 3 separate ones within 3 weeks. I think if they have a promotion, be fair and give it to everyone.

I have not had any promotions since Feb and that was 100 free listings,I also asked ebay why I was not receiving them and was told it was virtually luck of the draw.Imagine my surprise when 2 days later I get a phone call from a very nice to tell me they had looked into my acc and I was most certainly eligible for the promotions couldn't understand why I was not receiving them. She said I should look forward to getting the next ones so we shall wait and see what happens.
