Bad feedback on slow postage when the postal service is to blame and Express Post was not requested

Is there any recourse such as having poor feedback removed when a buyer who lives more than 3600 kilometres away blames the seller for the time it takes to get there? In my case, the article was posted less than 24 hours after payment was made and the buyer lived in remote Western Australia while I live in Brisbane. It turns out the item was at their local post office but had not been collected. Surely it is the buyer's responsibility to negotiate a faster postage service if they want an item urgently? There was no correspondence or advice that the item was wanted within a specific time period. Ebay rarely removes feedback. Do I just have to suck it up, as Ebay suggests?

As eBay will tell you if you complain to CS, a buyer's feedback is their opinion of how they felt the transaction went, and they can write pretty much anything they like, truthful or not, and eBay couldn't give a toss. They continually bend over backwards to keep their buyers happy at the poor sellers' expense. Ebay's seller care factor = 0.

So true cq, it's totally unfair that a seller can get a neg for AP's postage time.

Yet another failure of the system, "postage time" should be at what time seller sends it, not at the time AP takes to deliver it.

Why on earth can't eBay get a much better system implemented (much like the old one that was "improved")

Perhaps eBay should get some real people to look at and answer some of the questions on the boards instead of leaving it to Lithium to moderate them.

Nah, they wouldn't want to be slagged on a public forum...................

I've seen a lot of very stupid actions taken by eBay over the last year or so, and some (or a lot) of those are making buyers and sellers think again about using their selling platform.................

Quite simply, Padi, eBay management have lost the plot. They sit in their ivory towers making ridiculous decisions which affect people's lives and livelihoods on a daily basis without giving a solitary thought to the consequences.

When loyal 10-year high-volume sellers with excellent feedback and DSRs can be summarily and permanently shut down, with no right of reply or appeal, because of an extremely poorly designed and implemented defect system, while other crooked sellers can openly shill bid with impunity (and eBay's knowledge), then the system has clearly failed, and those responsible need to be replaced immediately.

When decent sellers are being shafted on a daily basis while scammers, thieves and shillers are essentially being given free reign to do as they wish, eBay management very clearly has a lot to answer for. All they really care about is money, and it seems to me that they don't really care where it comes from any more, just as long as their shareholders are happy.

Quite frankly, Padi, this place disgusts me.

Those shareholders are going to be supremely jacked off when eBay's CSG fails and they did nothing to change the system, then the buyers go away and the sellers don't have buyers (apart from those junk sellers..............)

notice you have the old id back, have a win?????

Padi, eBay have already priced themselves out of the market due to their sheer avarice and it's no longer the place to source a bargain. For example, when I want a particular Chinese product, I'll buy it from AliExpress for as little as half what it would cost me on eBay, and I don't have to forfeit my buyer protection to do so, either.

So much for eBay's attempt to create a vast Chinese shopping mall, 'cos I have some rather bad news for them. Others have already done it, and bigger, better, and a lot cheaper than ebay. They really should have stuck with what they know best instead of allowing their greed to consume them, because this place is well past its prime and will never again be what it once was.

Spoiler
No Padi, I think they're ignoring me now and hoping I'll go away. Funny thing is, that's probably exactly what I'll be doing. Smiley LOL

I would imagine that you've seen the posts that Aussie sellers have asked why a lot of their listings have not appeared on the us or uk sites for no reason, some do some do not.

Apparently the same thing is happening for sellers from the US and UK.

For me if (or when) I decide to use eBay as selling place, ( what I want to sell needs international exposure) I certainly do not need to find out that a large % of my listings are not exposed to the US/UK markets...................

eBay needs to pick up the ball and run with it, not drop it..........................idiots in charge.......................

Do you remember about a year ago there was a big stink on eBay regarding what was being called at the time "rolling blackouts" where a large number of members were complaining that their listings weren't appearing on US or UK eBay for lengthy periods, and eBay virtually admitted that they'd been forced to do so due to lack of server space at that time?

Well given that as you say, numerous people have been complaining recently about similar issues, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that the same thing is happening yet again (if indeed it had ever really stopped).

Relatively recently, I was looking for some spare parts that I required to get my old Dell D400 laptop running properly again and because a lot of sellers were listing in different categories, I was performing almost daily searches across 'All Categories' using 'Dell D400' as my search parameters, and while the number of 'Australia Only' and 'Worldwide' listings remained fairly constant, the number of 'on eBay Australia' listings which normally had heaps of UK & US sellers listing, was all over the place.

One night there might barely be a dozen or so more than were listed in 'Australia only', yet the following night there would be as many as 40 to 50 more listings, when you would normally expect there to be around the same number each night, then the following night the difference would be back again to just a handful more. Now while I can't categorically state that some listings were regularly being held back, it still looked awfully suspicious to me and I was instantly reminded of the "rolling blackouts" from earlier this year.

For sellers who needs reliable and regular international exposure for their products, I'm far from convinced that eBay is the best place to be getting it. Sellers need to be able to trust that they're all being treated fairly and equally, and right now that clearly doesn't appear to be the case at all, as is obvious from the number of complaints we're seeing lately about lack of exposure in the US & UK markets from local sellers.
