What is the best way to send a xbox 360 and accessories by mail from Perth to Sydney. It's the first version and the power brick is heavy. Can you send the batteries with it ( I don't think you can, I didn't list batteries anyway!)

You can send items containing lithium batteries domestically but you have to send them regular parcel, not pre paid satchels, and they must have a road only sticker on the package.

Safest way to pack is double box with protection between the boxes, probably best to use calculated postage giving the weight and dimensions soneach buyer sees the cost to their own postcode.

If you are not including the batteries (and you had better make that very clear in the listing) then if it weighs under 5kg probably best to use a pre paid satchel or an AP size 4 box.

I would send it signature on delivery if it was me, even though it's been sold for parts. Maybe even express to get it over quicker. A good sturdy box, bubble wrap each part and then shredded newspaper or packing peanuts. Before you seal the box, close the top, pick it up and shake it. If there is any movement, stuff some more packaging in there until you can shake it and nothing moves.

I'm in NSW and it's saying postage to me would be $28, which would be the same to Sydney. If it's heavy, would that cover the postage? Only asking because I've not posted anything that heavy.

As for the batteries, if they are lithium batteries, I wouldn't send them as lithium have to go by road. As you said, you didn't advertise the batteries anyway.

I just hope the buyer read the description properly and knows it's for parts. I've seen some phone sellers get negs because the phone didn't work, even though the ad clearly stated it was for parts/not working!

Incorrect advice as usual PJ.

You can use prepaid satchels to send lithium batteries as long as they are clearly marked ROAD ONLY and the declaration is not signed.

Unless the value is over $300 there is no benefit to you as a seller in paying for signature on delivery.  AP only require sig on delivery if you are purchasing extra cover for the goods.

Paypal only require proof of lodgement and proof of addressee in Oz NOT delivery.

You may wish to Insure the goods with extra cover if under that value - extra cover is currently priced at $1.50 for every $100 value you wish to insure.  it is essential that you complete a lodgement slip with addressee details for stamping at Post Office to meet Paypal scrunity if the buyer happens to claim that the item is not received.

If package is under 5kg and double boxed it fits into a prepaid satchel, I would send that way, with extra cover insurance if value was more than $50.

I looked on australia post and The cheapest is parcel post large satchel, 5kg at $16.70, parcel post your own packaging is 21.85. Both of them with signature is 19.65 and 24.80. Own packaging with and without signature ($58 and 60.95 ) express post ( so that's not an option'. Gosh๐Ÿ˜ณ)and express post large satchel upto 5 kg with and without signature ($23.60 and $26.55) I said $28 so ebay will take $2.80 of that, so the cheapest is $19.50

So if it fits, a 5kg satchel is the way to go by the sounds of it.

Clearly states on the satchels that they should not contain dangerous goods and that the declaration must be signed, I asked AP if this was true or could we use pre paid satchels the way you suggest and was told no we should not.

AP respond publically on a regular basis regarding this matter on their facebook page - always, without fail, indicating that an AP prepaid satchel can be used as long as it is clearly marked for Road Transport Only and the declaration is not signed.
Yes the declaration is printed on most AP post products, including their boxes, prepaid post labels including those labels that you use your own packaging with   smileyhappy:
If you do not sign the declaration on any AP product it usually then sent by road by default.

can't see how heavy it is or what measurements, but could you use a B4 box?

If you buy the box at Po for $3.85 (guess) and use a ebay label for $15.05, it is still reasonable and boxes have better protection.

Limited to 5kg total weight tho.
