Bring back negative feedback option for non paying buyers!!!

Ebay you need to reinstate the negative feedback option for non paying buyers.  I have had numerous items bid on and not paid for because buyers know they can get away with this as their is no repercussion that affects their feedback score.  In fact several members had positive feedback but negative comments associated.

And although ebay may offer a credit for unpaid items, it cannot refund the time lost/wasted on these buyers.  Often a second chance offer is not accepted because the second chance buyer has purchased elsewhere in the time it has taken to try and get payment from the originaly buyer.

Even if its just an extension to the existing rules maybe.

That if a UIC closes against the buyer then an automatic NEG is given by ebay on their account for all to see.

Means that sellers still cant leave any NEG for buyers. Just this one is automatic after a closed UIC.

But still doesn't really do you any good unless ebay put in an option to block buyers who have a NEG for non-payment.

Your best option under the current rules is to simply carry thru with the UIC and they get a strike.

Then put your blocks in place.

I am sure you are already doing this as we are.

Why? what possible good could it do? Up until about 6 years ago sellers could leave negs for buyers. The result was that buyers who didn't sell on the same id didn't particularly care if they got negs, it didn't stop them from bidding or buying. If a seller had a problem buyer and left them a neg then they invariably got one in return.

It also menat that good sellers had to compete against the worst ones who would always leave a retaliatory neg and if the buyer thought that was a bad theng or they sold on the same id the carp seller would blackmail them into revising the feedback.

No thank you, I much prefer the current system, I have very few non payers probably because along with sellers no longer being able to leave negs ebay gave us the ability to block any member with more than one unpaid item strike.

I like this idea and in a PayPal only environment would be effective to an extent, but what about the buyers who pay by bank deposit? Their sellers could claim "nope didn't get your money".

I can think of amny ways that a system like this could be abused, some even similar to the neg retaliation scenario.

Is an automATED SYSTEM CAPABLE OF IDENTIFYING IF A PAYPAL (oops sorry) has been unclaimed or refunded? (I don't know)

I like the idea because sellers don't seem confident with the stike system and I presume it is because there is no visual satisfaction, so a visual system may encourage more sellers to actually issue a strike if it were impemented.

But as I said, I can see opportunities of abuse, which could possibly lead to legal action, perhaps even defamation claims.

At least in the invisible state, the punishment/allegation is not being published. What happenes in a case where the information is published and proven to be untrue?

I think this may be why eBay resists implementing a publication, different if a user does it as the T&C make it clear that eBay are not responsible for the content of their contributions, but for eBay themselves to do it, may be more risk than they are prepared to take on.

i don't know, but I am leaning towards the notion that publication of instances such as this have something to do with Privacy issues.

I have so had enough of these people that can do whatever the hell they want with no consequences.  Beat everyone else to a winning bid and then never respond to anything what so ever. There is no community feel of ebay at all anymore, in the old days..a person with bad feedback would be identified immidiately and members had to actively work together on both bids and disputes..Now, the seller suffers loss of business and hours wasted watiting for disputes to be solved.

I am taking my busines elsewhere.

FB for buyers and sellers is so different -

Buyer can (and should) check a sellers FB before purchasing...

Seller, on the other hand, has no control over a buyer doing BIN - sure check the feedback AFTER they hit BIN, but what can you do once it is done?

Multiple neg buyer hits BIN - seller can't stop it, too late, just has to wait and hope buyer pays.

BUT - 2 strikes for non payment - any seller who knows what is what has block's in place - buyer can't bid or BIN.

I know what I would prefer.

I too much prefer the strike/block system. I have my blocks set for 2 strikes in 12 months. Usually if they've done it once, they'll do it again, so it's not long until they can't bid/buy from a lot of sellers.

I rarely have BIN's, so I always check the feedback of bidders. I've only cancelled one due to having nearly 50 feedback and only 2 were glowing. The rest were from naughty sellers leaving false positives.
