Opened a dispute after 4 days for Unpaid item & buyer complains
Oh you didnt say when i had pay by i was waiting you tell me..
Yeah right why should i have send a mesege every single buyer when to pay.. good one.
5 other auction winners pay straight away without prompting & this one just sitting around waiting for me tell them when to pay.. this i never heard off
Sent a couple invoices & ebay payment reminders but must not be enough for some dumb buyers i guess

Hmmm well you had no problem writing here to complain so would it have been that hard to send an email. I no i like to hear from who I am buying from as it helps tell me what sort of person I am dealing with.
My point is if you had not heard from them after 3-4 days would it have been that hard to send them an email asking there intentions before opening an U.i.D. after all you have 45 days in which you can make the dispute and the buyer may not have payed for a whole bundle of different reasons. Like waiting for there wagers or out of town for a few days or what ever but it would not have hurt to ask first. And you dont have to send it to everyone just those who have not paid or are not responding then if they still do not pay or make contact then open an U.I.D.
But also you have done nothing wrong really in your defence the buyer should have also tried to make contact my point simply is an email would not have been so hard and it looks like it was all that was needed to finish the transaction.
Try to remember sending disputes can upset people and it may force them to pay quicker but it also may backfire and have them leave you unwanted feedback ratings. It would be better to simply send an email asking ther intentions first so as to avoid any conflict.

i couldnt see anything in your TOS about payment, most sellers write please make contact in 3 days and payment in 7 days, if you get someone new they wont know but as the previous poster said you could have sent an email enquiring about payment

eBay sends a notice to advise of the sale.
If I have not been paid by late pm day three I send a short message:
Please advise if payment has been made via Bank Deposit as I have not received in my paypal account as yet. If you are requiring longer to pay, please let me know ASAP.
If I hear nothing by day 5 - I open dispute. Most times I get paid the next day and I have never had a buyer angry with me regarding my message.
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

joshcatau, don't let late payers or non-payers get to you. "Don't Have a Cow Man" ๐
This is what we do:
Tick the option to have a Payment Reminder automatically sent to the buyer after 2 days
http://contact.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ManageBuyerCommunication
On the day of purchase send an invoice if the buyer hasn't paid within a few hours. Some buyers will wait until they receive an invoice before making their payment.
eBay sends the auto reminder on day 2
Send an email on day 4 to say something like: Thank you for your purchase. Your item is packed and ready for posting as soon as payment is received. Payments can be made by PayPal or bank deposit. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your purchase.
If you've had no response, open an UID on day 5

It is actually the responsibility of a buyer to pay on time and if they can't arrange such a simple thing or ask questions the seller can't be blamed.
I send an invoice with instructions and all necessary information and if payment hasn't been made after 4 days I open a NPB dispute. This works well for me and I rarely deal with a non payer anyway. There are all types of this creature including my latest one who sellers claim pays fast etc but has strangely enough failed to pay or email me.......

Why on earth would I ask a buyer to contact me within 3 days or give them 7 days to pay?
The buyer gets the item purchased email, ebay send a reminder after 2 days and if they haven't paid by day 3 I send an invoice with a message asking for details of how the payment was made as I have been unable to trace it. Day 4 I open a dispute. I have never had a buyer email me and confess to being dumb enough to think they should need any more prompting;-)
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?
