Off topic here, but why can I see some of your listings when I click "View Listings" next to your ID and not others (obviously not those with "0" listings)?

I highly doubt you will see any listings when you click "View Listings" next to my ID as this ID is for posting on the forums only. It's not set up to buy or sell. If you did see listings under this ID, then my account has been hacked!!!! The reasons have already been answered for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Once your feedback's over 1000, it probably doesn't matter as much - one neg or neutral isn't going to impact your overall feedback percentage or Seller Rating all that much. But if you're under 100, it's huge. Getting your feedback up over 100 is a priority.

And, if you're looking to increase your selling limits, eBay factors feedback into it - I got knocked back on an increase on this account about two months back for that very reason: feedback hadn't risen enough. I politely pointed out that almost half the buyers hadn't left feedback, enquired as to how that was considered my fault, and suggested that eBay should perhaps send periodic reminders to all customers who had outstanding feedback. Naturally, the eBay Customer Service rep couldn't find an answer in their script...

In this particular account (one I run for the company I work at), our current feedback is sitting on 93. Even allowing for 20 or so items that have been sent out in the last few days (and therefore, probably haven't even arrived on the buyer's doorstep yet), we're still awaiting feedback from around 40 buyers.

If you're trying to establish yourself, feedback is vital in the early stages...

It's nice (as a buyer or seller, but probably more importantly to someone who is primarily a seller) to get positive feedback.

A lot of buyers will give it. If someone doesn't though, I wouldn't stress too much.

As others have said, people with minor gripes may refrain from commenting at all if they are trying to be nice. I've done that in my time.

I have given a few negs but for items paid for and not received. Usually to sellers who suddenly went down in a flood of similar negs. A couple of times where I would have given a neg, I found I was too late, the seller had already been kicked off because less patient buyers had been before me.

If you want FB, just give it time as if 40% of people give it, it will gradually build up.

I agree, I think feedback has definately had its day. It so onesided anyway with sellers only able to leave positives. And whats with all the negs and defects - thats just carp we shouldn't have to deal with. If I don't get feedback for something I just asume that all is well, because I know they would contact me if it wasn't.

feedback was originally set up so that sellers and buyers could check out each other. None of that makes sense anymore. You can't believe everything you read on some sellers accounts because some buyers give negs for no reason. You can't believe anything you see on a buyers account either because sellers can't leave honest negative feedback. They should just can the whole thing or put it back they way it used to be.

Feedback used to be vital to build up trust, back in the day when there was no paypal, so buyers relied on someone having a stake in ebay & a track record they would want to keep. Sometimes sellers just took off with your money.

I think it needs a revamp but actually other sites are starting to introduce star ratings and comments-but only for the actual product, not the transaction as such.
