About a week ago I sold an item to a buyer and arranged a time to pick it up and that it would be paid in person.
However, no one arrived to pick up the item at the designated time and I even waited an extra 2 hours looking out the front periodically since they may have been extremely late.
I assumed that they must have got the wrong address or got lost, but the details I sent to the buyer were correct and asked them via email as to why they didn't show up. Buyer replies back that they did, but that couldn't have been the case as I stated above. I even asked to arrange a more suitable time for themselves and that I was willing to hold onto the item for the time being.
I did not receive a reply back for about a week now and I'm wondering if I should even bother waiting any longer and actually do something about it?

If it were me, I would contact them once again and give them all the details ( address, phone number etc ) say that you would like contact within 24-36 hrs and see how you go. If they don't respond, then I would then take it to the next step. They ( buyers ) may have had something pop up or just haven't been at the computer. It is frustrating, but things do happen unexpectedly. BTW have you read their Feedback etc. Are they new to this ? If you go through FB you may discover they are " players" or just dizzy. If they are Players, I would just open a case against them. That may do the trick. 🙂

What I do in this situation is send one last message asking "if they still require this item" or words to that effect.
Then allow a couple of days (whatever suits you) and start the process to get your fees back & relist etc.

I would open a non payer dispute. If nothing else, it might put a rocket up them. If it doesn't, then in 4 days you can close the case, get your fees back and relist. Make sure you block that buyer too, so they don't try and pull the same stunt. Once the dispute is closed, they can't leave you feedback.
